Switch school context
Use the school switcher to change which school you are working in, or to return to the MAT overview.
Steps
Step 1 — Find the school switcher {#step-1}
The school switcher is at the top of the left sidebar. It shows your current context — either the name of the active school or All schools (when you're already in MAT mode).
Step 2 — Open the switcher {#step-2}
Select the switcher. A dropdown (or searchable combobox if you have many schools) opens showing all schools you have access to.
Step 3 — Select a school {#step-3}
Do one of the following:
- Select a school name to switch into that school's per-school view (Users, Groups, Apps)
- Select "MAT overview — all schools" to return to the MAT-level view (cross-school search, merge, sync)
Step 4 — Wait for the page to reload {#step-4}
The page reloads for the new context. The sidebar updates to show the correct navigation for the selected school or MAT overview.
Result
All subsequent actions apply to the selected school (or MAT context if you chose "All schools"). The switcher at the top of the sidebar now shows the new active school.
Troubleshooting
- "A school I expect is not in the list" — your account may not have access to that school. Contact the platform owner.
- "Switching school takes me to the wrong page" — this can happen if you were on a cross-school page before switching. You will always land on the Users page (or the MAT overview) of the new context.
