Smart Timetable

Overview

Smart Timetable displays a signed-in pupil's timetable under the heading My Timetable, fetched live from Realsmart's SmartLogin service each time the page loads. Lessons are grouped by day, and each one shows its start and end time (in UK time), the subject, the room and the teacher where these are recorded. A day with no lessons says "No lessons today".

There's no settings page — you place the shortcode wherever you want it to appear.

Getting set up

Step 1: Add the shortcode

Add [show_user_timetable] to a page that signed-in pupils can reach, for example a pupil dashboard. Optionally set a maximum height, e.g. [show_user_timetable height="400"].

Step 2: Test it while signed in

Publish the page and visit it while signed in through your school's usual Realsmart sign-in. If you view it signed out, you'll see "No timetable data available." instead — this is expected.

Features

Shortcode Parameters Description
[show_user_timetable] height Displays the signed-in visitor's timetable

height sets a maximum height in pixels for the display.

Requirements: The visitor must be signed in with a valid login token from your school's usual sign-in route.

Troubleshooting

Timetable is not showing

Why it happens: The visitor isn't signed in, their login token has expired or is missing, or SmartLogin has no timetable for them. When the data can't be loaded, "No timetable data available." appears instead.

How to fix it:

  1. Confirm you're testing while signed in through your school's usual Realsmart sign-in — an account signed in with a WordPress username and password has no token.
  2. Sign out and back in again.
  3. If it still doesn't appear, contact Realsmart support.
