Staff Vacancies

Manage job vacancies on your school website — create listings, display them as cards or tables, and automatically remove expired posts.

Overview

Staff Vacancies lets you publish job openings on your school website without creating each one as a manual WordPress post. You enter vacancy details in a dedicated admin form, and the plugin creates and manages the linked news posts automatically.

Vacancies can be displayed anywhere using shortcodes, shown as cards or a table, and expired vacancies are cleaned up automatically each day.

Getting Set Up

  1. Go to Smart PluginsStaff Vacancies Settings.
  2. Create your first vacancy using the admin form.
  3. Add [staff_vacancies] to your vacancies page.
  4. Publish and verify vacancies display correctly.

Use: [staff_vacancies display="table"]

Tips & Best Practice

  • Set realistic deadlines — expired vacancies are automatically removed.
  • Include clear application instructions and the correct inbox email.
  • Use the cards display for your main vacancies page; use the table display for a compact list.
  • Attach job descriptions and person specifications as file attachments when helpful.

Troubleshooting

A vacancy disappeared from the website

Why it happens: The deadline passed and the daily cleanup removed it.

How to fix it:

  1. This is expected behaviour for expired vacancies.
  2. Create a new vacancy if the position is re-advertised.
