Manage parents' evening events, time slots, and bookings through a dedicated admin interface connected to SmartLogin.

Overview

Smart Parents Evening Booking System provides a React-based admin app for creating and managing parents' evening events. It connects to the SmartLogin parents' evening API — bookings and slot management happen through the external service, not in WordPress directly.

Getting Set Up

1. Go to Parents Evening in the WordPress sidebar.
2. The admin app loads with your school ID and authentication token.
3. Create events and manage slots through the interface.

Requirements:

• Realsmart school ID configured in Configuration
• User logged in with a valid SmartLogin token
• edit_posts capability or higher

Public booking shortcode

[pebs_booking] is documented for public-facing booking pages. Note: the public booking UI may be limited in the current version — contact Realsmart support for the latest status.

Tips & Best Practice

• Ensure your school ID is correctly set in Configuration before using the admin app.
• Test the full booking flow before opening to parents.
• Coordinate with your school's SmartLogin administrator for API access.

Troubleshooting

The admin app does not load

Why it happens: School ID may be missing, or the user token may be invalid.

How to fix it:

1. Check Configuration → realsmart school id.
2. Log out and back in through school SSO.
3. Contact Realsmart support.
