Smart Behaviour

Show logged-in pupils their behaviour and achievement data from your school's management information system.

Overview

Smart Behaviour displays a pupil's behaviour points, achievements, and comments on any page where you add the shortcode. Data is pulled live from the SmartLogin API when the pupil is logged in through your school's single sign-on system.

This gives pupils a personal view of their behaviour record without staff needing to manually update a webpage.

Getting Set Up

Smart Behaviour works out of the box — no admin configuration is needed. Add the shortcode to a page that logged-in pupils can access.

  1. Create or edit a page for pupil dashboards.
  2. Add [smart_behaviour] to the page.
  3. Publish.
  4. Test while logged in as a pupil.

Features

Behaviour display shortcode

Shortcode Parameters Description
[smart_behaviour] height, dont_show_behaviour, dont_show_achievement, dont_show_comments Displays behaviour data for the logged-in user
Parameter What it does
height Container height
dont_show_behaviour Hide behaviour section
dont_show_achievement Hide achievement section
dont_show_comments Hide comments section

Requirements: User must be logged in through school SSO with a valid login token.

Tips & Best Practice

  • Place the shortcode on a page restricted to logged-in learners (use Smart Visibility if needed).
  • The data is live from your MIS — no manual updates needed on the website.
  • If a pupil sees no data, they may not be logged in or their account may not be linked.

Troubleshooting

No behaviour data is showing

Why it happens: The user may not be logged in, or their SSO token may be missing or expired.

How to fix it:

  1. Confirm the user is logged in through school SSO (not as a WordPress admin).
  2. Ask the user to log out and back in.
  3. Contact Realsmart support if the issue persists across multiple pupils.
